Website design is the creative process that produces the unique style and appearance of a custom website. The web design process is performed by a graphic or web designer using illustration and image editing software to create the visual composition.

Website design produces a picture of what the website will look like. The design must then go through the technical process of website development to transform it into an interactive website.
